Meet the BoardChairperson
Richard Morris -I have lived in Alexandra for the past 27yrs. I am married to Carmen we have Catherine, Erica and Leon all attending Alexandra Primary School I work in Cromwell for Delta as a distribution manager in the electrical division. I man- age up to 50 staff. When I get the chance I enjoy fishing, boating, golfing and am an armchair spectator watching many sports on the box. I have been on the Board of Trustees for the last six years and BOT Chair for the last three. I will continue to make a valuable contribution to the school community using the knowledge I have gained during my terms on the board working in a team with a mix of skills that focus on the Governance role ensuring the school is focused in getting optimum results ....Best learning outcomes for our children.
I have lived in Alexandra most of my life attending primary and secondary school here before training as a Travel Consultant. Currently I am working in accounting support for a local accounting/tax management firm. I am married to Kevin, a Clyde local and we have two children at Alexandra Primary School, Emily in Year 6 and Hamish in Year 4.
I have been an active member of the Alexandra Primary P.T.A. for the past four years, most recently helping to obtain funding for the playground redevelopment. In the past I have been involved in Plunket as the Central Otago Treasurer for four years, Alexandra Art Society, Alexandra Scout Group and the Alexandra Out of School Care Committee. My spare time is now spent supporting our children in their sporting activities.I believe Alexandra Primary School is an innovative school and I would like to support the staff and students in their endeavours and make a positive contribution to its future.
Together with my wife Trish and our children James (9) and Sophie (7), we are privileged to have been part of the Alexandra Community for almost 20 years. Running our business in Alexandra has given me a number of management skills, developing and dealing with budgets and financial and staff planning. I would like the opportunity to work with the dynamic team that is responsible for the successful learning environment that is Alexandra Primary.
Darrell Boyd - Married to Janine, with Shannon and Kieran still currently at Alexandra Primary School after having one child start at high school this year. I have been involved with the Board of Trustees for the last four odd years, initially as a co-opted parent and then elected at the last elections 3 years ago. With my finance industry back- ground I have had the role of budget oversight which given the way to continue working with the other Trustees to oversee student outcomes and see the pupils meeting their learning goals. As well as this the other area of focus will be continuing to push for a complete rebuild of the old school buildings so our children can have the modern learning environment they deserve.
Sharyn Park - I believe in supporting our local community, including our school community, as they play an integral part of our lives and our future. It takes the input of all to achieve success and we need to ensure that our schools provide a platform for the growth for our children in a safe, supportive and positive environ- ment. Being a former pupil, along with my parents and grandparents, I am passionate aboutAlexandra Primary with our two children, Ryley (Year 4)and Claudia (Year 2) currently attending and they love it. Both my husband, Craig, and myself work locally and I am General Manager at Terrace Distributors, a family owned and operated.
