Kirk Pritchard

Chairperson

I have lived in Alexandra with my wife Natasha for 12 years. We have two daughters, Gabby and Scarlett. I work at the Clyde Dam for Contact Energy as a Project Manager. I joined the board in 2019 and became chair in 2020.

The BoT plays a key role in supporting the principal and staff towards educating all the students of Alexandra Primary School and I take pride in being able to assist in their education journey.

Tēnā koutou katoa Alexandra Primary whānau

Ko Grace ahau.

I have lived in Alexandra most of my life, my two sons, Xavier (who attends Dunstan High School) and Cooper (who attends APS) and although I was a St. G’s girl myself, I have had a connection with the school for 18 years.

I am passionate about our future generations and how we can build our students understanding and enthusiasm as they grow in, learn from, and care for our amazing country Aotearoa. I am proud to be involved with such an inclusive, think-outside-the box school who are honest and realistic about the challenges involved in preparing our learners for the ever-changing future. I am inspired by the vibrant teaching team who are creating such a warm one-size-doesn't-fit-all environment for our tamariki to thrive in, and I look forward to facing challenges, growth and celebrations alongside them.

I work for Uruuruwhenua Health. I am keen to take an active role nurturing Te Ao Māori within our school. Please, don’t be shy to say hi (or kia ora) if you see me round, always happy to chat!

Nāku noa, Grace Gibbons

I was born and raised in Central Otago attending school here in Alexandra before heading away for 10 years to train and practice as a Secondary Teacher in New Zealand and also the UK.

I live here in Alexandra with my husband Fraser and our 2 boys Archie and Camron. Currently I work for the Dunstan Kahui Ako as the Learning Support Coordinator at Dunstan HIgh School, so I have a special interest in schools meeting the needs of all learners.

I joined the Board of Trustees in 2020 and am excited about being a part of the changes we have happening at Alexandra Primary School and in education in New Zealand.

Fiona (Fi) Mackley

Principal

Kia ora, I have been teaching at Alexandra Primary School since 2010. I have had lots of roles over that time and am currently our school's principal. I feel privileged to be in this position and I have been enjoying the opportunities being a principal presents.

I really value the governing role our school Board of Trustees has. We have some exciting opportunities ahead of us and I look forward to working with our trustees on these initiatives.

Hello, I’ve been in central for over 20 years now, close to being a local. My wife and I have 3 boys all attending Alex Primary - Logan, Hemi and Ollie. We all enjoy and value what living in Central Otago has to offer.

I have been working for Breen construction for most of that time in the role of Site Foreman.

I’m new to the BOT and am keen to learn and grow with this amazing team during this time of opportunity and development.
